Are you a Proverbs 31 woman?

Coffee-Drinking-WomanAs we wrap up Women’s History Month, The Morning Thing dove into Proverbs 31 and pulled out the characteristics of a Godly woman. Check out this blog from Jenn, a self proclaimed wife, mother, follower of God, lover of coffee and classic movies. She dives into the verses and applies them to modern women of today. Take a few minutes to read through these characteristics and evaluate them within your own life.

Trustworthy: “Her husband has full confidence in her and lacks nothing of value. She brings him good, not harm, all the days of her life.”

Eager: “She selects wool and flax and works with eager hands.”

Purposeful and Savvy: “She is like the merchant ships, bringing her food from afar.”

Sacrificial, or just plain Responsible: “She gets up when it is still night; she provides food for her family and portions for her female servants.”

Diligent: “She considers a field and buys it; out of her earnings she plants a vineyard.”

Physically Capable: “She sets about her work vigorously; her arms are strong for her tasks.”

Disciplined: “She sees that her trading is profitable, and her lamp does not go out at night. In her hand she holds the distaff and grasps the spindle with her fingers.”

Compassionate: “She opens her arms to the poor and extends her hands to the needy.”

Prepared: “When it snows, she has no fear for her household; for all of them are clothed in scarlet.”

Tidy/Elegant/Neat: “She makes coverings for her bed; she is clothed in fine linen and purple.”

Supportive/Submissive: “Her husband is respected at the city gate, where he takes his seat among the elders of the land.”

Humble: “She makes linen garments and sells them, and supplies the merchants with sashes.”
